The Soccer Awareness School Of Development Centre has just finished its 8th full season since starting up.
Our curriculum is unique in that it is based on world-renowned youth development coach, Wayne Harrison’s Soccer Awareness philosophy.
Wayne has written 14 best selling coaching books and over 34 E-Books with endorsements from the likes of Jose Mourinho.
Our sessions run on a Tuesday night with Futsal in Southampton and a Friday night in Basingstoke during term time for selected elite players only, to supplement the coaching they receive at their grassroots clubs.
We are independent of any grassroots club and all players will be able to continue playing for their grassroots club, we were established to purely try and bridge the gap between grassroots football and academy football.
We have players attend from a whole host of local grassroots clubs.
We organise matches against other coaching companies, professional clubs and semi-professional clubs during half terms and/or on a normal training night. We have played games against Southampton Football Club, Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club, Reading Football Club, Portsmouth Football Club, AFC Wimbledon Football Club, Swindon Town Football Club and Eastleigh Football Club.
We have scouts come in on a regular basis from Fulham Football Club, Reading Football Club, Southampton Football Club and Swindon Town Football Club to watch training and matches..
Since establishing 8 seasons ago we have had 16 players (boys and girls) sign with professional academies and a vast number of others who are either on trial or have been on trial at a wide range of professional clubs. This is something we are very proud about.
Due to our great connections and contacts, during the 2015/2016 season we took our U10, U11, U13 and U14’s to Holland to play in a tournament during Whitsun half term and had the assistant academy manager at FC Utrecht deliver a workshop for the players and parents. We are now in the process of looking into another trip to Holland or to Spain.
All our coaches are a minimum of Level 2, Matt Beckingham who head’s up the programme is a Level 3 coach.
